This page explains, in plain words, what Kairos keeps about you, why we keep it, who helps us run Kairos, and how to have it deleted. If anything here is unclear, write to support@yourkairos.app.
The short version
- Kairos is only for people 13 or older.
- We keep what Kairos needs to teach you: your username, your answers, your reflections, and what you do while you learn.
- We never sell your information, and we never use it for advertising.
- Kairos does not use your information to train AI models.
- You can ask us to delete your account and your information at any time.
What we keep
- Your account. A username and a password. An email address only if you choose to add one; it is used to sign you in, to help you recover your account, and, only if you tick the box for it when you sign up, to email you when a re-check is due.
- Your answers. Your answers to the six starting questions (including anything you write in your own words), the goal you name for yourself, your answers to lesson questions and checks, and the reflections you write.
- How you learn. Which lessons you open and finish, how long you take to answer, and your progress and streak. Kairos notices when you step away during a question; that stays in your own record and is never used to penalize you.
- What Kairos works out. Kairos keeps its own estimate of what you have learned so far, so it can choose what to teach you next. It can be wrong, and it changes as you keep learning.
- Paths you make. If you create your own learning path, its name and description. Paths are shared: any signed-in learner can see every path’s name, description, and lesson titles, along with an ID code for the account that created it (never your username), and someone who creates a path with the same name joins yours.
- Your agreements. The date you confirmed you are 13 or older, the date you agreed to the Terms & Conditions, and, if you ask for re-check emails, the date you asked and the date you stopped them. For each re-check email, we keep a note of the day and which re-check it was about, so you never get the same one twice.
- The waitlist. If you join the waitlist, your email address and a note of the link that brought you. Joining the waitlist does not create an account.
- Technical details. Your IP address, used for a short time to stop abuse such as too many sign-in tries, and a count of how much AI work your lessons use, so we can keep costs in check.
- Cookies. A few small cookies keep you signed in and remember an invite link you opened. Kairos uses no advertising cookies.
How we use it
- To teach you: to write your lessons, to reply to your reflections, and to choose what comes next.
- To show you your own progress.
- To email you when a re-check is due, only if you asked for that when you signed up. Every email has a link to stop them.
- To keep Kairos safe and working, and to fix problems. The people who run Kairos (today, that is the founder) look at records only for these reasons.
- We don’t share your information outside Kairos, except with the services below that help run it, or when the law requires it. Inside Kairos, the learning paths you create are visible to other signed-in learners (see Paths you make, above).
Who helps us run Kairos
These services handle your information for us. We send each one only what it needs to do its job.
- Supabase Stores your account and your learning record, and signs you in.
- Vercel Runs the website. Like any web host, it sees basic details of each visit, such as your IP address. It also counts page visits for us, without cookies.
- OpenAI Writes your lessons, questions, and hints. On the Free voice, it also writes the replies to your reflections, using your learning history.
- Anthropic On the High and Elite voices, which you can choose on your profile page, it writes the replies to your reflections, using your learning history.
- Upstash Counts requests to stop abuse and to keep daily AI limits. It sees your IP address or your account ID, never what you write.
- Sentry Receives a report when something breaks, so we can fix it. A small share of ordinary page visits also send timing details.
- Resend Sends the re-check emails, only to people who asked for them. It receives your email address and the short reminder, never what you write.
AI and your information
Kairos uses AI services to write your lessons and replies. We send them only what the lesson or reply needs, such as your recent answers, your reflections, and the goal you named.
Kairos does not use your information to train AI models. OpenAI and Anthropic state, in their terms for paid business use, that they do not train their models on what we send them.
AI can make mistakes. If something Kairos tells you seems wrong, check a reliable source and let us know.
Children
Kairos is only for people 13 or older. When you create an account, you confirm that you are 13 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
If you are a parent or guardian and think your child under 13 has an account, email support@yourkairos.app and we will delete it.
Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your account at any time. There isn’t a delete button in the app yet, so email support@yourkairos.app from the email address on your account, or tell us your username. We will reply when it’s done.
Deleting your account removes your profile and everything tied to it: your answers, reflections, progress, activity, and agreements.
Two things are kept, with no link to you: the lessons and questions Kairos wrote while you learned, and any learning path you created (its name, description, and lesson titles), which other learners may be using.
If you joined the waitlist, ask us and we will remove your email address. Copies held by the services above, such as error reports, are removed on their own schedules.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top.
